Code of Ethics Training Resources

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) requires all existing REALTOR® members to complete Code of Ethics and Fair Housing training within each designated membership cycle to remain in good standing.

These requirements apply only to current members who are renewing their NAR membership and are tracked by NAR as part of the official NAR Membership Training Cycles.

Lakeland REALTORS® offers multiple ways to meet both requirements.

NAR Training Cycle Information

Current & Upcoming Training Cycles

Current Cycle (Cycle 8)
January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2027

Next Cycle (Cycle 9)
January 1, 2028 – December 31, 2030

Both Code of Ethics and Fair Housing training fall under the same NAR training cycle.

Members must complete the required training once per cycle to maintain REALTOR® membership.

Required Training Components

Code of Ethics Training

NAR requires REALTORS® to complete Code of Ethics training once during each training cycle to ensure familiarity with ethical standards, professional responsibilities, and conduct expected of REALTORS®.

Fair Housing Training

Fair Housing training is also required once per cycle and focuses on equal housing opportunity, anti-discrimination laws, and fair housing best practices.

Ways to Meet the Requirement

You can satisfy the Code of Ethics and Fair Housing requirements for the current cycle by completing one or more of the following options between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2027:

• Attend an in-person or virtual class
  Check the Lakeland REALTORS® Education Calendar for upcoming Code of Ethics and Fair Housing courses.

• Lakeland REALTORS® CE Shop
  Purchase and complete approved online courses through the Lakeland REALTORS® CE Shop.

• NAR Center for REALTOR® Development (Free Courses)
  NAR offers free Code of Ethics and Fair Housing courses for REALTOR® members.

• Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) Certification Program
  Completion of the NAR C2EX Certification Program satisfies both the Code of Ethics and Fair Housing requirements for the current cycle.

Important Notes

• These requirements apply to existing REALTOR® members only

• Training must be completed within the designated NAR cycle dates

• Failure to complete required training may result in suspension or termination of NAR membership, per NAR policy
