Florida Realtors to Initiate Call for Action Regarding Estoppel Fee Caps

The first Call for Action (CFA) of the 2017 Legislative Session is scheduled to take place on March 8, 2017, relating to SB 398 by Sen. Kathleen Passidomo (R-Naples) and HB 483 by Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Naples). These bills would place a cap on the unreasonable fees that some community association management companies are currently charging sellers to provide estoppel certificates prior to closing. Both bills have a tough road ahead and this CFA is intended to build legislative momentum by spurring lawmakers into action. For more on the estoppel certificate issue, visit
